i was given some other stuff to give to my son , but was also told that the baby zantac was fine aswell . It takes a few days to work .. but it was awsome .. my son was alot happier . we used it from about 2 months till about 5 months - he started solids at 4 months and that seemed to help aswell . He never spat up either , hes breath smelt really bad all the time . its like he was consitantly having heart burn . My son is 22 months old and there is nothing wrong with him or his tummy - he eats just about everything . We also found that he was alot comfortable when he slept on his side ( we used one of those things so that he didnt roll on to his tummy ) and with the mattress head tilted up a bit .

My son was on it 3 times a day for the 1st year of his life. He's now 14yrs old and seems fine. It helps with their pain. Make sure you use all the elevation techniques for GER babies & change them before feeds, not straight after, and feed smaller feeds more regularly. I also started my son on solids at 4mths as per my dr's instruction... I really don't think it made any difference, they just grow out of it when they grow out of it!

We tried it for our baby and the difference was night and day. We were very reluctant to give her any medication, but none of the other less invasive methods were working. Within two days she went from miserable to happy, smiling, and cooing. She was only on it for about a month, she outgrew her GERD at about 5 months. It's pretty innocuous drug. I wouldn't worry about side effects. Best of luck.
