i have been breastfeeding my baby boy for 5 months now since he was born, which is great, but it is getting a little tough with the fact that, even when he is not hungry, he needs to be on my breast. this can be tiring during the nights and also when needin to have other things done, as he will be needy. at 1st we did not give him a pacifier, but now am thinking about it, so that i can get some time to myself and get other work done without him needing me so much. i have tried a few pacifiers, but he does not know how to suck it, or understand it very well. he just holds it and looks at it. am not sure what to do now. has any other mum gone through this or understand what i am talking about? and how did they overcome this problem? please help
i saw a girl who was 18 or 19 sucking on a pacifier. I didn't laugh or anything because it's rude.is it something that is normal? i don't judge others.I personally used one until i was 6.
We've tried giving her something in place if it. We've tried just taking it from her but she crys for hours if we do. Then we've tried just giving it to her when she goes to sleep, but she wakes up and crys for it. Shes almost three so its past time for the bink to go!
I took my 2month 3 week old baby to get his physical yesterday.
The pediatrician said everything was find just that he already doubled his birth weight.
She said they double their birth weight at about 5 months.
And my son isn't even 3.
She asked how often do I feed him and I feed him every 3 hours cause that's when he gets hungry.
She told me to wait at least 4-5 hours and if he fusses to just give him and ounce of water and his pacifier.
But I doubt that will work, I love feeding my baby on demand because I know people get upset when they're hungry and have to wait.
But I dont know if im being a bad parent since he already doubled his birth weight.
I thought I was doing fine when it came to feeding him.

He now weights 11 lb.
