I have a 7 week old infant that is formula fed. Originally, we started him on Enfamil's Lipil formula. He was on that formula for the first two weeks. He was having terrible gas, so we switched him to Enfamil's Gas and Fussiness formula (which he was on for an additional three weeks). He still had gas, so we switched him to Enfamil's Soy formula (which he was only on for a couple of days). That caused terrible constipation, so we switched him back to the Gas and Fussiness formula a couple of days ago. Everything was going fine. But the past two days he has been terribly fussy. He kicks his legs, and is inconsolable. His stools are green and thick. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
I am not looking for rude smart answers.
I am looking for answers from other moms and dads out there on an approximation of the total weekly or monthly expenses of a infant ( +/- 6 months old). Not including day care or babysitting but just the expenses to care for a child.
I've tried to think of everything I use for my son.. but I may be missing things.
My list is as follows:
Diapers
Wipes
Infant Formula (I use liquid concentrate)
Bath Soap/Baby Wash
Baby Cereal
Jarred Baby Food
Batteries for Toys/Baby Gear/Swing/Seats, Etc.
Clothing
Medical (Co-Pays & Prescriptions)
Over the counter medical and misc (Lotions, creams, ointments, first aid)
Laundry Soap, Dryer Sheets (Dreft)
Just looking for a rough estimate. Caring for a child and the expenses that come along with doing so are not cheap, just because they are small people assume they aren't THAT expensive.
Thank you so much.

The Acting Medical officer of Health, Dr. Frank Warsh, is advising residents of City of St. Thomas, and portions of Southwold and Central Elgin to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes e.g. drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice."

I saw this posted about 2 hours ago. The person wanted to know why MSG couldn't be given to infants. I was surprised to see that no one knew that MSG was in infant formula. Did anyone know that?
